Parable of The Sand Castles
|
There was a long, wide stretch of beach. This beach was empty except for three children building sand castles. Actually, two of them were building sand castles, the third was having a hard time. The first child was building his sand castle right near the water's edge, and he used lots of wet sand to build his castle. It was a beautiful castle. The second child was building her castle up near the brush at the top of the beach, by the road. She incorporated twigs and grass into her castle, and it too, was beautiful. The third child was somewhere in between the first two children. He wasn't near the water, so he had to dig down pretty deep to get any wet sand, and even that sand wasn't all that great for building a castle like the one at the water's edge. He had no grass or twigs with which to build his castle, so it couldn't be anything like the girl's castle. All he had to work with was some driftwood. He made a couple of unsuccessful attempts at c
